Sensory Notes

Chardonnay is a grape that is expressive of the way in which it was made. Rob Lloyd’s approach for Jessup Cellars is to make a rich barrel fermented style that resembles a more robust version of “classic” Chardonnay. This 2016 Los Carneros provides mature and ripe aromatics balanced by a fresh young palate. The nose showcases notes of lemon and pineapple backed by sweet aromas of toasted coconut and custard. The palate is different from the nose offering a much riper stone fruit character of peaches and nectarines that compliments a soft creamy finish. Enjoy with something like steak béarnaise or fresh seafood. Drink now or cellar 3-5 years.
