With the 2014 vintage comes a move for our cherished Zinfandel, a bold move indeed. After nearly a decade working with a Chiles Valley Zinfandel vineyard, winemaker Rob Lloyd has selected a new vineyard source, though 'new' is not the best descriptor for these 120 plus year old vines. Hallowed vines such as these are not easy to come by; their yields offering a measly ton per acre and the land yielding much higher profits planted to Cabernet Sauvignon. Thus, here we are with the distinct honor of offering this ripe, juicy and silky smooth wine from, you guessed it, the Alexander Valley. Aromas of brandied cherries, orange peel and sweet spice flow seamlessly into blueberry and bramble on the palate. Vines this old on a site this perfectly situated tell a story that we just couldn't resist recounting to you. Drink now or cellar for one to two years.
